Next Saturday, October 24, Loveless lands at Sala Upload in Barcelona: a shoegaze festival, or something like that. Because is shoegaze really a genre? Probably not. It’s more of a different, personal way of understanding music. Whatever, thought four friends who share the same tastes and passion for music. “We should put on a festival with the artists we like,” we all agreed. And that’s exactly what we did.
The term shoegaze began to emerge in the 1990s, coined by the British music press with a certain degree of irony to describe bands as different yet complementary as My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Spacemen 3, Ride, Seefeel and Lush. Today, it is more present than ever, with new artists around the world rediscovering and reinventing it. But shoegaze is only the starting point for Loveless, which embraces different approaches to this universe: from dream pop to psych, through grunge, post-punk and electronic music. We like noise.
Bands that will play:
Slow Crush
Bum Motion Club
Pale Blue Eyes
Dharmacide
Salvana
Golden Bug
